Verizon - Verizon

November 2014 I bought a beautiful piece of property in Saugerties NY. There are, what I thought (and was told) are power lines running down the driveway & along the front and side of the house. I found out after the purchase that these are Verizon copper phone lines. I have been trying to contact Verizon since 12/2/14 to see about moving the lines as I am building a garage with a second floor deck. You can reach out & touch these lines from the deck. Aesthetics aside, I don't think this is safe. I have called Verizon every few weeks since December. It is now July. I still don't have any results. There is no way to speak directly to the specific department. You have to go through a bunch of automated systems before speaking to a person. & hoping to reach the right Dept. Each time I called I was given a construction Ticket number & told I would be contacted with in 48 hours. I never received a call back. When I call them back to see what the results are for the ticket they say its been closed out with no comment or anything. I have offered to [pay to bury the lines as part of my renovation includes digging trenches for other lines going in. I have offered to share the cost to move the lines away from the house, if they have to stay above ground. There is so much open land here that theses lines can be moved to. But I can't get to the right person who is even able to make decisions like that. I have contacted 2 lawyers but they wont get involved with a case like this. Verizon is like an impenetrable fortress. I just want to get this resolved. I have had issues with material deliveries not being able to unload where they need to because of the lines. I can't arrange the driveway the way it needs to be because the poles are in the way. I am beside myself. It's very frustrating to put effort into resolving this knowing I am speaking to deaf ears. The worse of it is, I don't even think these lines are in use anymore. Can you help me?
